"And some time make the time to drive out west
Into County Clare, along the Flaggy Shore,
In September or October, when the wind
And light are working off each other"
- Seamus Heaney
A SENSE OF PLACE
These paintings are expressions of a sense of place. They are a response to time that I spent absorbing the feeling and atmosphere of places in County Clare and the west of Ireland. Colour interaction and texture evoke elements of land, plants, the sea and the seashore, erosion and weathering.
